A pretty good twist on the howlin' wolf man story gets thrown at us here in this minor 50's classic. Our werewolf becomes a wolf thanks to the experiment of a crazed DR. instead of the old bite technique. Poor dumbass just ended up having a car wreck in the wrong place at the wrong time and pays a furry price. He manages to kill off a few locals, arouse barroom suspicions, and run from the sheriff long enough to keep this shit interesting. The make-up is decent, the acting fair, and the bras pointy. The local drunk's performance was particularly awe-inspiring. I never did quite figure out what triggered the change from man to beast, but the transformations looked cool enough in a time lapse kinda way. It was almost kinda sad to see the reluctant wolf man get shot up in front of his wife and kid. Guess everyone has to control their bad hair daze.
