Jim Kessel and his girlfriend, Kelly (Alexie Gilmore of NEW AMSTERDAM), are videotaping themselves as they go to investigate the area where the Patterson Bigfoot footage was shot in 1967. They go to Willow Creek first, a tourist town, where they have a bigfoot foot-shaped burger, talk to odd people, see sasquatch murals and sculptures, and record a story about an old ranger whose dog was ripped in half. Then they pack up their camping gear and drive towards the Bluff Creek area, known as "Bigfoot Central". On the way they are stopped on the road by an angry Hillbilly, who tells them to turn back. But Jim doesn't listen and finds another route to their destination. They have to park the car and walk for miles before they set up camp. They explore, go for a swim in the crystal clear creek and come back to fin the camp scattered. That night they are scared by a raccoon and in then, once in the tent, they may finally have their encounter with bigfoot...
This is, honestly, one of the best bigfoot movies I've seen, primarily because of the strength of the actors, who make it completely believable, particularly in a fifteen minute long shot that will keep you in suspense. The characters are also likable so when bad things start happening you actually give a crap. Directed by Bobcat Goldthwait (SHAKES THE CLOWN). Highly recommended.
