In the first story, UNNATURAL VICES, the police are after a serial killer who thinks of himself as a sculptor, of sorts. He removes the hands and limbs from this victims, during the course of weeks while he keeps them alive. Dr. Tony Hill (Robeson Green) surmises that the reason the killer feeds his victims spicy food is to "season the meat" and then eats their body parts in front of them. In the same episode Tony Hill is taken to court for harassing a neighbor, who is ends up being crazy. They do end up catching the killer, who is sort of like Hannibal Lector.
In FALLS THE SHADOW Tony is at a conference for experimental psychologists and a woman he goes to dinner with is killed right after he leaves her hotel room. The local police view him as a prime suspect and won't let him help with the case. Meanwhile, DCI Fielding, who Tony works for, is investigating the murder of some prostitutes. Then there's another murder of a psychologist. It turns out both types of murders are are being done by the same guy, who is alternating his MO. But why? Let's just say it has to do with the repercussions of some Nazi experiments.
The one thing I do have to say after watching this movie is that Dr. Hill definitely has to invest in an alarm system for his apartment as people are always breaking in his place and nearly killing him.
Then, in THE DEAD LAND, they are investigating investigating the murders of young men and come to the conclusion that someone is kidnapping them and thenmaking them fight and kill each another. Also, the cannibal serial killer caught in the first episode, who Tony is fascinated with and visits in the mental institution, escapes-- and goes after Tony. What happens afterwards actually surprised me, as I did not expect that to happen.
Again, this series continues to maintain or improve upon the first seasons. So far, one of my favorite series of the 21st Century.
