Cayden Richards (Lucas Till) believes he has killed his parents after he transforms into a werewolf one night. He flees across country. It's on the news about him that he learns he was adopted. Then, when he's in a bar that he encounters an old guy, Wild Joe (John Pyper-Ferguson) who can tell he's a werewolf--and is a werewolf himself. He tells Cayden that he may come from a place called Lupine Ridge. So that's where the boy goes--and comes across a big group of them, led by Connor (Jason Momoa). Connor has turned a lot of locals into werewolves--but they are half-breeds, and not as powerful. There's a love interest, of course, and a big revelation about his real father, which is no big surprise. The movie has the feel of a pilot for a television series--and I can see this being a fairly entertaining franchise. Best of all, these are old-fashioned, Oliver Reed Hammer type creatures, not CGI monsters, and it works. Recommended.
