A guy named Zia (Patrick Fugit) kills himself over a girl (Leslie Bibb of TALLEDEGA NIGHTS) and finds himself working at a place called Kamikazee Pizza in a limbo sort of world that's a bit worse than the one he escaped from. Everything is toned down and gray looking and everyone depressed. Everyone who "lives" here are suicides.
Zia finds out that his old girlfriend killed herself so he goes to find her. He's accompanied by a Russian singer and also a female Hitcher he picks up, named Mikal (Shannyn Sossamon of ONE MISSED CALL, THE ORDER). When he does find his old girlfriend he's disappointed, as she's clearly in love with someone else, this guy who is in charge of a cult. By this time he realizes he's really in love with Mikal.
This is an interesting premise with a cop-out ending that truly sucks and pretty much undoes any impact the movie has created. This is an independent film-- why have a stupid, Hollywood movie type ending?
