Can't say I've bothered with the first two sequals to "Wrong Turn", though I've heard enough summaries claiming they are entertaining in a stupid, gory/T&A sense. After seeing this fourth entry in the mostly straight-to-DVD franchise, I'll probably leave those other two on the back burner a bit longer.
A trio of inbred brothers - who apparently ate their parents - escape from the 'no nonsense' ward of a mental hospital, causing a murderous riot among the other inmates and staff. Years later, a group of recycled cliches on a snow mobile trip get lost and decide to stay at the abandoned hospital during a blizzard. Of course, the psychotic cannibal clan is still residing in the building and the batch of dullards are picked off and eaten.
As you can figure from the title "Wrong Turn 4: Bloody Beginnings", this piece of shit is a prequal. Honestly, I thought the original 2003 backwoods cannibal chase film "Wrong Turn" was a cool and suspenseful flick for the time. Not a glimmer of originality, mind you, but I recall it being a pleasant surprise when checking it out in the theater. Again, I passed on 2 & 3 and figured 4 might be interesting since it's clearly set in a snowy environment. That said, I didn't count on seeing reclusive, murderous inbreds picking locks with hairpins in record speed TWICE, cooking human meat in a fondue pot, and chasing people on snow mobiles. All this movie wanted to do was insult the intelligence of it's viewers, ten fold! What the hell, in "Wrong Turn 5: Bloody Dead Blood" are the cannibals gonna be on fucking skateboards?
As far as the "entertaining" gore and nudity that seems to keep people watching these movies, the best kill scene involved a double-decapitation on a snow mobile and there's an obscured moment showing two lesbos making out naked. Overall, who fucking cares?! "Wrong Turn 4" is standard slasher garbage. Just don't bother with it.
