Nicholas A. Jackson's "The Zombie Hero", I'll gladly admit, is a fun indie- zombie/comedy/super hero flick. Clearly a micro-budget project and filmed digitally - it is about a guy who is on his way to a date with his soon-to-be fiancé when he is hit by a car, driven by a wanted mad scientist, who takes him back to his lab and proceeds to bring him back to life... After the newly revived zombie experiment escapes from the insane Doctor, he meets up with a homeless guy who teaches him to fight crime as Zombie Hero. Disguised with a black hockey mask and equipped with a baseball bat and detachable arm which is thrown like a boomerang, he sets out to serve up vigilante justice...
It's pretty much along the lines of "The Toxic Avenger" and "Die You Zombie Bastards!", what with it's Troma-like attitude and the superhero theme, and is definitely a solid effort with obvious attention to detail and editing. There's also some very odd, yet highly humorous moments such as a baby-snatcher swiping one goddamn ugly baby, a pimp being bitch-slapped and anally plowed with his own severed arm, and a crazy robot with mittens! Like I said, "The Zombie Hero" is a fun movie, due to the fact that it's not taken too seriously, but contains more than enough creative plot elements, good lighting and splatter to keep you entertained.
