Mary (Caroline Dhavernas of WONDER FALLS) is a doctor who helps terminally ill patients to die on their own terms. Her partner is also a doctor, although he has previous drug addiction problems. In fact, it's his drug connections that enable them to get the medication they need to perform their services. Also, they charge $10,000, to make sure that their clients are serious. Things immediately become complicated when one of the patients doesn't die right away-and she has to finish him off by suffocating him with a pillow. Then there's Jay, who claims he's terminally ill with cancer. Mary is attracted to him and they have sex, which seems to mess him up. In truth, he's an undercover police office out to catch this serial killer in the act.
At first I thought this episode intriguing, but once her teenaged daughters were introduced as well as her lame ex-husband who constantly needs money (where her part of the $10,000 goes to!), it became too convoluted and irritating. So much is going on with this character that I do not believe she can lead this double-life without having been caught years ago. Eh.
